N/R: Qualified PHC Recruites Replaced With NPP Handpicks at Training Centers

      Alhassan Abdul-Mumin

Northern regional communications officer for the National Democratic Congress Alhassan Abdul-Mumin ( General Amin) has alleged that, the recruitment of the ongoing Population and Housing Census(PHC) training was politicized. He indicated in a press statement that, he has received several complains from concerned innocent  Ghanaians across various districts in the region whom have unjustifiably denied and some had their names being deleted from the recruitment list and replaced with  known NPP members.

He sighted an incident where the NPP Constituency Chairman for Gushegu, leading what he described as hoodlums to threaten the PHC officials in the Gushegu District if the list of NPP party supporters he and the party has submitted is not accepted, similar incidence happened in Savulugu he indicated.

He stressed that, an exercise of a such is supposed to be carried out in the national interest devoid of partisan politics but like the capture of state institutions, programs and projects by the Akufo-Addo led NPP, the 2021 PHC has fallen victim. He therefore cautioned the government, NPP and the Statistical Service that, violating  the rights of qualified persons for narrow political interest will draw dark clouds over the integrity, credibility and value of both the exercise and its outcome.
